How Your
Donations Help

All of the money raised by the Walk & Run helps hundreds of front-line community agencies supported by 29 United Way’s across the province.

United Way

In Ontario, the United Way has raised $154 million with over 2,594 programs and services supported through this funding. These programs and services focus on helping kids reach their full potential, building strong communities, and helping move people from poverty to possibility. Ultimately, they help connect people to the support they need – like shelters for abused women, language and pre-employment training for newcomers, companionship for seniors and people with disabilities, mentoring and recreational programs for at-risk youth and critical assistance for homeless people, to mention but a few.  Based on a raised-local-stays-local approach to fundraising, each of the 29 Ontario United Ways directs local investments back into their community, tailoring the investment to meet their community’s priorities and needs for services and programs.
